Our History

1978: Founded by Georges Devos, Mecanic Systems started as a small sheet metal workshop in Braine-l’Alleud.
1983: Became a pioneer in laser cutting by acquiring the first subcontracting laser cutting machine on the market: a 600W Raskin machine.
1984: Jean-Marie Devos took over Mecanic Systems, investing in the first machining center and expanding sheet metal activities with punching machines. Over the years, the company expanded with several extensions on the Braine-l’Alleud site.
1990: Purchase of the first Bystronic ByLas laser, 1800W.
1996: Acquisition of the first combined laser-punching machine, Trumpf 600L.
2004: Start of welding activities.
2007: Introduction of robotic welding.
2010: Purchase of the first fiber laser with parts sorting.
2012: Transition to the second generation, with massive reinvestment in cutting-edge, increasingly automated machines.
2014: Installation of the first photovoltaic system with 1,020 panels.
2017: ISO 9001 certification.
2018: Acquisition of a laser with an automatic parts sorting system—first Bystronic machine of its kind on the Germany, France, and Benelux market.
2021: Purchase of the first 10 kW fiber laser.
2022: Automation of bending processes with the purchase of a robotic cell.
2022-2023: In-depth review of production flows to optimize operational efficiency.
2024: Acquisition of a second 10 kW Trumpf fiber laser.
